My Block: Strong Island Part 2

“You can’t live here!”, still rings in the hearts and ears of African American families who were pioneers in the first suburban neighborhoods in America. The documentary My Block: Strong Island Part 2 continues to explore the present-day black experience across the United States by investigating its foundation in Long Island, NY after World War II. This story exposes the polarizing truths of violence, segregation, and racism from the past that are still present in suburbs across the country today.  Documentary  49:12  US
